  • French Open 2017 LIVE updates: Nadal and Wozniacki Win, Djokovic and Williams to Play

    Djokovic plays Albert Ramos Vinolas last on Philippe Chatrier, while Nadal beat Roberto Bautista Agut in three sets on Suzanne Lenglen.

    In the women’s draw Caroline Wozniacki beat Svetlana Kuznetsova in three sets, while Venus Williams is playing Timea Bacsinszky.

    A number of matches from Saturday have been rescheduled for today following rain in Paris that stopped play in the afternoon.

    Gael Monfils took a 6-5 first-set lead over Richard Gasquet into today - and the latter eventually withdrew through injury.

    Chung Hyeon lost to Kei Nishikori after clawing back to 2-2 from two sets down.

    French Open 2017 Day 8 LIVE updates

    15.45: Pablo Carreno Busta beats Milos Raonic 4-6 7-6 6-7 6-4 8-6.

    What an encounter on Court 1. The match ebbed and flowed and went into a 14th match in set five before Carreno Busta got the job done.

    Meanwhile, Venus Williams has begun a sterling comeback to draw level at 5-5 in her first set with Timea Bacsinszkyon after being 5-1 down.

    Garbine Muguruza is 1-6 6-3 0-1 against Kristina Mladenovic, who has just broken the defending champion on Suzanne Lenglen.

    And Jamie Murray is in double action alongside Brazil’s Bruno Soares. They are 5-4 up against Rohan Bopanna and Pablo Cuevas on serve in the first set.

    15.15: Venus Williams has not enjoyed the strongest of starts out there on Philippe Chatrier.

    The American has twice been broken and is 5-1, staring at a lost first set already.

    Timea Bacsinszky isn’t messing around. The 30th seed from Switzerland is keeping her cool and has got into a rhythm on her serve.

    Garbine Muguruza, meanwhile, has just broken Kristina Mladenovic to go 4-1 up in their second set. That match should go the distance now.

    15.03: Garbine Muguruza is rallying here. She breaks early in the second set and keeps Kristina Mladenovic at bay to move 3-1 up.

    14.54: Venus Williams is preparing to face Timea Bacsinszkyon Philippe Chatrier after Richard gasquet withdrew from his match with Gael Monfils.

    Monfils was 4-3 in the third set when Gasquet retired following a Monfils ace. Gasquet’s miserable season continues.

    As for Monfils, he will now play Stan Wawrinka tomorrow.

    Garbine Muguruza was stunned 6-1 in her opening set against Kristina Mladenovic but broke immediately at the start of the second.

    Milos Raonic is 2-1 up against Pablo Carreno Busta in the fifth set, going with serve.

    13.08: Rafa Nadal has got the break he was looking for in this second set against Roberto Bautista Agut.

    The Spaniard is now 6-1 4-2 up.

    Pablo Carreno Busta won his second-set tie break with Milos Raonic to level up the scores on Court 1.

    And Sam Stosur has carved open a 4-1 first-set lead over Jelena Ostapenko.

    12.53: Rafa Nadal has stormed his first set against Roberto Bautista Agut 6-1.

    The Spaniard looks comfortable on his favoured clay surface. It’s going with serve in the second.

    Gael Monfils and Richard Gasquet have resumed play on Philippe Chatrier following their rain postponement yesterday. Monfils won the first-set tie break 7-5.

    Milos Raonic and Pablo Carreno Busta are into a second-set tie break on Court 1.

    And Jelena Ostapenko v Sam Stosur has just got underway on Court 2.

    12.22: Rafa Nadal has broken Roberto Bautista Agut early to lead 3-1 in the first set. Nadal is seeking a 10th Roland Garros title and looks comfortable here.

    12.15: Wozniacki beats Kuznetsova 6-1 4-6 6-2 to book her place in the quarter-finals.

    11.40: Caroline Wozniacki serves to stay in the second set… but can’t see it out. Svetlana Kuznetsova got the break she needed to that the second set 6-4.

    Meanwhile, Milos Raonic has just got his fourth-round match against Pablo Carreno Busta underway on Court 1.

    It’s 3-2 to Raonic and going with serve so far.

    On Court 2 John Isner has saved his tournament with a gritty 7-5 tie-break win in the third set against Karen Khachanov. It’s now 2-1 to Russain Khachanov.

    Mariana Duque-Marino and Veronica Cepede Royg are locked at 5-5 in the second set on Court 14, with the former already a set up.

    And Elina Svitolina has just won her clash with Magda Linette 6-4 7-5.

    Next up on Suzanne Lenglen is Rafael Nadal against Roberto Bautista Agut.
