Serena Williams will miss the Cincinnati tournament. The American, eliminated in the fourth round of the single Olympic games informed the organizers that she is suffering from an inflamed shoulder. While her shoulder inflammation is still a problem, she's eager to return to the courts as soon as she can.

Marion Bartoli nearly died after she contracted a mysterious virus in February this year and has returned to Paris match on her fight towards recovery.

Marion Bartoli continues her recovery after her discharge from the hospital at the end of July. The former Wimbledon champion returned to Paris Match on the fight, first in Italy and then, in Garches hospital. She mentioned the trigger for her decision to seek treatment, examinations with the Wimbledon tournament doctor: "I have wanted this practitioner to have communicated my results to the organizers without consulting me but somehow, he saved my life. I was incredibly anemic: low red blood cell and white blood cell count, iron deficiency, vitamin deficiency, everything. Without this revelation, I would have died " , she has said.

She also tells of her daily meals in an attempt to return to 48 kilos (it is currently 43, to 1.73 meters).

"My daily menu: lamb's lettuce, cabbage and pumpkin seeds that I tolerate. At breakfast, I love pancakes, gluten free, frozen yogurt, lactose-free, and watermelon " , she lists. Installed for a few days at the national tennis training center, Porte d'Auteuil, Bartoli also confessed to have lived "The most horrible time of (her) life" at the time of placement of a gastric tube. But the former player continues to fight: "Practitioners told me that I had an exceptional mind and strength. It's my nature."
